Welcome to The Sengoku Archives! I’m Shawn and I am the author and manager of this website and the host for The Sengoku Archives YouTube channel and The Sengoku Archives Podcast! This website focuses on anything that takes place during the Sengoku Jidai (1467-1615), an age of civil war in Japanese history. Instead of giving accounts of events and biographies on people, this website will be diving head first into the topics that tend to get forgotten about or just don’t get covered by historians today. I’ve got something for everyone here too, for I will also being doing reviews on anything that has to do with the Sengoku Jidai in pop culture, such as books, animes, films, video games, and more. Please like and follow us on Facebook and Twitter to get updates on the website and please like and subscribe to the YouTube channel! Let’s reinvent Sengoku history!

Episode 5: Naoe Kanetsugu, Defender of the Uesugi The Sengoku Archives Podcast

This week, we are talking about Naoe Kanetsugu, a man who isn't really known to Western audiences, but it well known in Japan. Also included is a reading of the famous document called Naoe-jo, a letter that was written by him to Ieyasu before everything broke out at Sekigahara. The translation I read from is the only translation I know of from Sparrowdreams on Tumblr: https://sparrowdreams.com/post/95872037266. Also, we have merch! Check us out here: https://shop.spreadshirt.com/the-sengoku-archives/. There is also a link for it on our website at http://www.thesengokuarchives.com under the "Merch Shop" tab.
